Coalville - Case Study

National Energy Direct were appointed to Install Gas, Water & Electric to new state of the art leisure centre in the midlands.

NED were appointed to design, construct and install the new electric gas & water infrastructure to the new £22.5m leisure centre in Coalville, working with North West Leicestershire District Council and Everyone Active.

NED also had to divert around 600m of 11KV HV overhead line to underground to make way for the mobilisation works so the site works could commence.

NED worked closely with Metnor Construction, the main contractor on the project, to deliver the scheme on time and within the fixed price budget set out at the start of the project.

The plans for the new centre will see the land turned into a parkland leisure destination, including a trim trail with activity stations, pedestrian and cycle access from Hermitage Recreation Ground and Stephenson College, and a ropes course within the woodland.

NED Scope of Works Included

• 1400m of 11KV HV infrastructure with some 400m of off-site down the A511
• 800KVA unit substation installation with LV CT metering arrangement
• 600m of MP gas mains installation with LP metering arrangement
• 300m of potable and non-potable water installation
• 600m of HV overhead line to underground diversion
